Additional files (step 4)

Additional Files include documents that will not appear online if the article is published but are necessary for the review process. Examples of Additional Files include checklists, patient consent forms, in-press articles, and license-to-publish forms.

Authorship and Contributorship

An author as a person who has made a substantive intellectual contribution to the submitted manuscript. A substantive contribution includes one or more of the following:

• Design or conceptualization of the study

• OR major role in the acquisition of data

• OR analysis or interpretation of the data

• OR drafting or revising the manuscript for intellectual content

Professional writers employed by pharmaceutical companies or other academic, governmental, or commercial entities who have drafted or revised the intellectual content of the paper must be included as authors. It is the responsibility of the authors of a manuscript to designate the Corresponding Author, determine author order, and decide which persons in the study are authors and which are contributors according to the journal’s criteria. Author addition, omission, or change in author order will require additional documentation.

One author, the Principal Investigator or Guarantor, must have access to all the data and take responsibility for the data, accuracy of the data analysis, and the conduct of the research.

One author, designated the Corresponding Author, must be responsible for all communications with the Journal throughout the review process, including ensuring that all authors have approved the final

Editorial

They are written by a magazine editor or by a guest based on the criteria of the magazine's Editorial Team. Editorial content will often refer to topics published in issue, a topical issue, or editorial policy. To avoid inbreeding, each editor can publish one editorial by number.

Original research

They consist of extensive reports of an original investigation, either intervention or observation. Series with a study interval less than three years old will be accepted (a series from 2008 to 2016 is not accepted taking into account the year 2020). The document must be submitted by the magazine system using the specific form included in the instructions to the authors.

Case presentation

It is a brief communication or report on an individual case with novel and important information. They serve to document diseases whose natural history, pathophysiology or management have not been explored by the big series. In the face of the existence of published case series on the subject, case reports with minimal input are not accepted. The document must be submitted by the magazine system using the specific form included in the instructions to the authors.

Review

It must be done by one or more experts from their own experience and the resulting from the study of the bibliography upon request or acceptance of the subject by the Editorial Team of the magazine. To submit an article, the Director of the journal must first be contacted, pointing out the subject, experience of the authors, and the novel ideas that the work reviews. After acceptance the topic the document will be sent using the specific form included in the instructions to the authors.

Special article

It includes protocols, consensus articles, views, interviews, historical article and on internationalist Cuban medical collaboration. In accordance with the characteristics of the article, the paragraphs (introduction, development and conclusions) will be set out. Generally, its extension is similar to that of review articles. The Obituary addresses the life of a recently deceased person with a famous performance in Neurology or Cuban Neurosurgery.

Letters

These are letters that include comments, questions, or criticisms of articles published in the previous issue and their possible aftershocks. They are addressed to the main editor, never to the author of the work previously published in the magazine.
