Psychomotor development and cognitive alterations in school child’s with neurodevelopmental disorders

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To assess the psychomotor development effect in cognitive alterations suffered by school child´s with early neurodevelopmental disorders.

METHODS: A descriptive correlational study was carried out in all the patients among 7–12 years assisted Cardenas Neurodevelopment Rehabilitation Center he allowed to assess the influence of dysfunction primary motor act over school boy's cognitive development. It was selected 74 patients with difficulties primary motor act (Brunet Lezine among 0–6 months) and results in the Bender test (among 3–4 years) and SESH neurocognitive test (System of Evaluation and Pursuit in patient Hypothyroidism) (among 7–12 years).

RESULTS: Regression multiple informed motor development in the age 0–6 months don't influence in the school boy's cognitive functions. Working memory and cognitive flexibility are predicted alone if the boy presents altered both age (infancy primary and preschool).

CONCLUSIONS: The executive and academic dysfunction can predict when alterations in the first childhood (motor oculus fact) and pre–school age (visual space fact). Space visual fact problem is pre–executive antecedent influence in the working memory and cognitive flexibility.
