Abstract

Introduction: the aneurysmal bone cyst is defined as a histologically benign expansive behavior at times due to its growth  rate and focal lysis. It  constitutes  2 % of all primary bone tumors, the cranial location is very infrequent. It is more common in females tan in males with a 3:1 distribution, in the second third decade of life, in the frontal region of the Shell.

Clinical case: we expose a case of a female patient where we practice the scalp block anesthetic technique for total resection of a lesion of this type and cranioplasty in the same surgical act.

Conclusions: the scalp block is an effective and safe regional anesthetic technique with various advantages in terms of risks and complications for the patient, operative time and hospital stay compared with the conventional method for cranial neurosurgical procedures, conserving similar quality of the result with respect to this.
