Abstract

Is performed a observational, descriptive and case series study to determine neurological manifestations in patients diagnosed with lung cancer between May 2015 to April 2016 in Saturnino Lora and Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso hospitals of Santiago of Cuba. The sample consisted of 21 patients, most with less than 3 months diagnostic time. In the patients studied dominated the male sex and the age group of 65 and older. While the 42.8 % of those patients had no symptoms, all the patients had abnormal neurological examination, showing clinical and neurophysiological signs of peripheral neuropathy. In two of the patients were diagnosed with the presence of brain metastasis. These findings suggest the need to search early neurological manifestations, often unnoticed, in this type of patients.
