Neurological manifestations of chronic kidney disease

The chronic renal disease (ERC) is a problem of health to level world, with increased sustained of the number of patients both in countries developed as in way of development. This brings as a consequence the growing need of recourse to procedures for dialysis or renal transplantation and the progressive increase in the cost of care. Patients with ERC may have a variety of neurological disorders, both central and peripheral. In the stage comprised between December of the 2014 to December of the 2015, is conducted dialysis treatment to 102 sick in Nephrology service of Hospital Provincial Saturnino Lora, of them 48 presented some type of neurological involvement. These alterations were basically manifestations of type polineuropathy, seizure in various grades, alterations of consciousness and language, among other disorders. Complementary tests, the more useful was the computerized Axial Tomography that showed elements of cerebrovascular disease recently in 22.5 % of the studied cases. These results confirm the need to actively search the neurological manifestations of the ERC in order to precociously detect and minimize its effect on these patients.Downloads
