Clinical characterization of multiple sclerosis according to criteria of McDonald 2010

Abstract

An observational, descriptive study of transverse section on the behavior of the multiple sclerosis for clinical characterization of patients treated in the Neurology consultation of the Hospital "Juan Bruno Zayas" in Santiago de Cuba in the period from October 2012 to October 2014, using the McDonald 2010 criteria. The sample was made up by a total of 30 patients. The multiple sclerosis represented the 28.3 % of the total of attended cases. The most affected gender was female. The most common clinical form was outbreaks and referrals. We recommend to make a analytical multivariate study, with a casuistic more wide that us allows determine appropriate neuroepidemiological parameters, as well as continue applying them McDonald 2010 criteria for diagnosis of sclerosis multiple as tool useful for a early and specific diagnosis.
